The quality of the shortlisted entries was exceptionally high, leading to an incredibly close final judging process. Each image spoke to the competition’s core themes, Custodians of the Land, Life on the Edge, and Reality Check, each offering a unique perspective on human–wildlife relationships.
The awards ceremony took place in Abu Dhabi during an evening event at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Surrounded by conservation leaders, practitioners, and storytellers, the shortlisted images served as powerful conversation starters, prompting discussions on coexistence, and the lived realities of conservation across the world. We are proud to present the winners of this year’s three categories, each selected for both artistic quality and the strength of their message.
Custodians of the Land Winner: Arghya Adhikary
Chosen charity: Sattvic Soul Foundation
Life on the Edge Winner: Sudip Maiti
Chosen charity: SEED (Society for Socio-Economic & Ecological Development)
Reality Check Winner: Tempe Adams
Chosen charity: The Botswana Elephant Centre (Kwando Impact)
The overwhelming response to our first competition, and the meaningful conversations it sparked, show the importance of storytelling in conservation. These images do more than capture wildlife; they capture relationships, responsibilities, and realities that shape our shared future. We thank all participants, judges, and attendees who contributed to making this inaugural event a success. We look forward to building on this momentum in the years ahead.
