About Jamma
Jamma Conservation & Communities drives transformative change through Human Centred Conservation, ensuring that Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities are recognised as key leaders in conservation and the wildlife economy. Grounded in both evidence and rights-based approaches, we work to strengthen conservation efforts that create lasting benefits for both people and nature. Through collaboration with like-minded partners, we support, fund and implement initiatives that drive meaningful, long-term impact.

Integrity, Community, and Courage - are at the heart of everything we do. They guide what it means to be a part of Jamma and ensure we remain accountable for our actions. The unwavering commitment to our values has enabled us to build strong, compassionate partnerships and be a trusted ally in the support of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities.
Integrity
Guided by Honesty, Grounded in Trust
Jamma upholds honesty, respect, and responsibility in all that we do. We learn from our actions and stand by our commitments.
Community
Collaborating for a Lasting Impact
Jamma believes the world’s important challenges are best solved collaboratively, where connection and compassion drive collective success.
Courage
Bold Decisions, Backed by Evidence
Standing firm with communities whose ecosystems and rights are at risk, we support Africa’s people in securing resource rights and sustainable wild economies.
Our Impact
Conservation is about people. At Jamma, we believe that sustainable conservation starts with those who live closest to wildlife. That’s why we champion Human Centred Conservation – an approach that recognises Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IP and LCs) as leaders, not bystanders, in conservation. We work alongside them to strengthen their role in managing natural resources, advocating for their rights, and building sustainable wildlife economies.
Bold, evidence-driven, and people-centred. Our partnerships with IP and LCs, conservation experts, and policymakers ensure that decisions about conservation are informed by science and led by those most affected.
