Dr. Alexandra Kalandarishvili

Head of International Policy and Partnerships

Alexandra is a Switzerland-based conservation professional from Georgia. With an academic and policy background in wildlife conservation and management, Alexandra has experience working on environmental and agricultural policy at both EU and international levels. She strongly believes that effective conservation policies are the ones that complement and support local livelihoods, and her work is driven by the goal of advocating for practical, evidence-based policies that enable coexistence between people and wildlife, while strengthening rural economies and local stewardship of natural resources.

Alexandra holds a PhD in Wildlife Conservation and Management. Her research focused on human–wildlife conflict, including understanding local communities perceptions, and translating research findings into policy advice for government authorities, informed by European wildlife management experience.
